Band Scores its 73rd Div 1 at UIL Contest  Oct 24, 2011

Congrats to the 2011 Broncho Band for receiving their 73rd consecutive Division 1 rating at the UIL Marching Band Contest on Saturday, October 22 at Ratliff Stadium.

Now for the EXCITING news: Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote the music & lyrics of the actual Broadway musical "In The Heights" watched The Broncho Band's performance on YouTube and posted the following online.

Pictured above is Lin-Manuel Miranda on the left and Alex Lacamoire on the right. In The Heights was nominated for thirteen Tony Awards, winning four: Best Musical, Best Original Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations.

On October 25, 2011, The entire OHS Band Skyped with Lin for 30 minutes. It was a once in a life time, tell your grandkids about moments. Dreams come true. Lin was unbelievably humble and honored to be talking to us. He sent our video to other cast members and we have been receiving unbelievable comments from around the country.
